After working five years for other accounting firms and serving as controller for a property management company, Richard developed a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals and decided to establish Bell & Company in 1982. By doing so, Richard knew he could provide superior professional accounting and financial services that are delivered with humility and timeliness.

His areas of concentration are in small business consulting and estate and trust planning. He has extensive experience in the transportation industry, having written numerous articles for industry trade publications. He also has taught courses and given presentations to professionals in other major industries.

Richard was successful in keeping two multimillion-dollar trucking companies out of bankruptcy proceedings. With his perseverance, the companies are now successful and thriving. He enjoys helping clients overcome challenges and advocates doing the right thing when serving them.

Because of this caring attitude and Christian philosophy, Richard chooses to share his knowledge and experience with both other professionals and entrepreneurs, particularly in the transportation industry. He has taught courses for Lorman Educational Services, and he has been quoted in a number of articles for Arkansas Business, Long Haul Letter, and Fleet Owner, including "Mid-Size Fleets Turning to Consultants," "Fuel's Wild Ride," "Engine Decisions: High Stakes at Risk," and "Fasten Your Seatbelts," to name a few.

He attributes his success to the encouragement and support of his parents, his wife, his siblings, the Bell firm members and a highly-respected mentor. Richard's sister, Nell, is his partner in Bell & Company. Richard and his wife, Lee, have two grown children.

Rich enjoys spending time with his family and fishing. He is an advocate for farm conservation.
