Mr. Whitman graduated from Upsala College in New Jersey in 1961. He began his professional career as a staff accountant with the accounting firms of Glickman & Glickman (1961); and Puder & Puder (1962-1965). In 1966, Mr. Whitman joined the accounting firm of Clarence Rainess & Co., becoming an audit partner in 1974. Thereafter, he was a founding partner in Goldfarb, Whitman & Cohen (1979-1995); and was a founding partner upon the establishment of Bernstein, Fox, Whitman & Company LLP in 1996.

Mr. Whitman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also an associate member of the California Commercial Conference and the Los Angeles County Bar Association Bankruptcy Forum.

Mr. Whitman has several areas of specialization and expertise, including:

• Accounting and auditing in the apparel and textile industries
• Accounting and auditing for merchandise licensors and licensees
• Bankruptcy, insolvency and troubled-debtor matters
• Taxation of closely-held companies and their principals
• Expert witness and litigation support analysis and testimony

Mr. Whitman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Executives, a support group for the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging. He is the current treasurer of the California Youth Soccer Association – South. Mr. Whitman is also a past president of the Professions & Finance Associates for the City of Hope.
