YOUR BILL OF RIGHTS

1.   Straight answers to your questions. Sometimes we deal with technical areas that are less than clear. You have a right to have as many explanations as it takes to satisfy your curiosity. Even if it tests our patience, you are entitled to as many explanations as you want.

2.   Prompt return phone calls. This is hard during tax season. There are days when we have appointments from 8 am to 5 pm, but we try very hard to get back to you while questions are fresh.

3.   Courteous treatment. After all, you are paying our salary. We may not always agree on taxes, accounting treatments, or your billing, but you will always be treated with as much kindness and dignity as we can muster.

4.   Technical proficiency. We spend over 40 hours each year in technical training. We choose courses based upon the areas we feel we need to brush up on --- not based upon course location. We do not claim to have all the answers to all the tax questions you can imagine. After all, tax compliance is based upon law, revenue rulings, IRS interpretations, and case histories which change constantly. But, we will get answers, and they will be accurate and as complete as is possible when one is dealing with the ?TAX CODE". And, we will always try to find the best plan to minimize taxes for our clients.

5.   Error free work. We have several levels of review of all work in an attempt to have a ?no defects" work product. But, we are human. When errors occur, we pay all penalties which are the result of our goofs. No, we will not pay your taxes, but you should never need to pay for a mistake because of us. (As sensible as this sounds, not all accountants act the same way.)

6.   On time work. Financial statements that are delivered 6 months after the close of a quarter are pretty useless. We work hard to be sure that our services are timely.

A doctor client told me about some medical procedures he was undergoing and observed, "Now I know how my patients feel!" Well, we try hard to imagine how you feel, and to make that feeling as comfortable as possible. Thanks for your patronage.
