Dan is the Partner in charge of the Firm's Accounting and Auditing Department and is responsible for the Firm's quality control programs in addition to heading up the Firm's Not-for-Profit Industry Practice Group. Dan also serves a diversified client base in the manufacturing and distribution industries as well as employee benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations. Dan is also responsible for all peer review engagements performed by the Firm. His specific areas of expertise include all types of employee benefit plans, personal financial planning including retirement and estate planning, and innovative solutions to the unique tax and accounting issues associated with closely held businesses. He has extensive tax consulting experience with both our corporate and individual clients.

Dan is actively involved in the Firm's staff recruiting and is also involved in the Firm's practice development activities. He frequently authors articles for the Firm's newsletter and has spoken to civic and community organizations on various tax and financial planning topics. Prior to joining Walthall, Drake & Wallace LLP, Dan gained valuable experience as a cost accountant with the construction division of a large industrial corporation.

Dan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of CPA's, where he is currently serving a second term as a member of the State Peer Review Acceptance Committee and the Institute of Management Accountants. He is involved in his residential community as a member of the Board of Directors of the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce, as Treasurer of the Community Festival Committee and as a Board Member of The Villa Grande Home Owner's Association.

Dan is a graduate of the University of Akron and resides in North Royalton with his wife, Lois, and their sons, Jeff and Matthew. Dan enjoys traveling throughout the United States with his family and is pursuing a goal of visiting all 50 states. He also enjoys classic rock music, reading, all spectator sports, and has been actively involved in both of his sons’ numerous athletic activities.
