Jean began her accounting career with Veres & Company in May 1979 and has continued to be involved with her primary areas of responsibility since Veres & Company joined Walthall, Drake & Wallace LLP. in 2005. Jean is responsible for audits of privately-held companies and has established herself as one of the Firm’s experts in audit and accounting issues. She also takes part in the training and supervision of staff members. Her expertise includes compilations, reviews, and audits of closely-held companies. Jean has gained significant experience in construction, distribution, professional services, and agreed upon procedure engagements. Her focus is in the construction industry and forensic accounting.
In addition to her expertise in financial and accounting matters, she is also able to assist her corporate and individual clients with their tax compliance and planning engagements. Her philosophy is that the client comes first and that tending to their needs is a top priority.
Jean is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a Notary Public. She is currently expanding her career in the field of forensic accounting and received her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation in January 2006.
Jean presently serves on the Firm’s Practice Development, Construction, Employee Benefit, Manufacturing, Paperless and Continuing Professional Education Committee Groups. She is a frequent presenter to our staff and clients.
Jean graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1975 and continued her education at Dyke Spenserian College where she earned her Bachelor of Science and Business Administration degree with a major in accounting and minor in marketing. Jean currently resides in Parma and enjoys vacationing with family and friends, camping, and bike riding.
