Ken joined Walthall, Drake & Wallace LLP in 1989 and is now a partner in our Accounting and Auditing Department. He works with a wide range of clients in numerous industries but specializes in employee benefit plans, transportation, service organizations, and non-profit organizations. In addition to being responsible for audit, review, and compilation engagements, Ken works closelywith his clients, providing them with necessary decision-making tools. In the tax area, Ken specializes in tax planning and compliance for Subchapter S corporations.

Ken is in charge of the Firm's Employee Benefit Plan Industry Practice Group. He has received a Certificate of Educational Achievement in the Employee Benefit Administration program. He is experienced with all types of plans including single-employer, multi-employer, collectively bargained, money purchase pension, 401(k) profit-sharing, SIMPLE, and defined benefit pension plans. He is familiar with the compliance and reporting requirements of the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor and is quite proficient in the preparation of Form 5500.

Ken is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He assists the Firm in the recruiting and interviewing of new professional staff, instructing in-house seminars, and monitoring quality control. His B.B.A. degree (major in accounting) was earnedfrom Cleveland State University.

Ken and his wife, Darlene, reside in Independence with their children, Kelsey and Kyle. He is involved in his community as a coach of his children's sports teams and as a member of the Independence Schools Financial Advisory Committee. Ken enjoys competing in a variety of sports and is an avid fan of local sports teams. His other interests include home improvement projects, woodworking, and automobile restoration.
