Mark is a Partner, with a varied background in accounting, auditing and tax
consulting. His client experience is largely concentrated in closely-held
businesses and not-for-profit organizations. He has developed considerable
expertise in auditing and taxation issues related to employee benefit plans and
not-for-profit organizations.
Mark has taken a strong role in the leadership of the Firm, having served as
the Financial Partner for nearly a decade and as Administrative Partner for five
years. He is currently responsible for assisting with the management of the
Firm's tax department. He has also been involved in operational and policymaking
functions during his various terms of service on the Firm's
Management Committee.
Mark has been very active in professional associations throughout his career.
He served as state level Chairman of the Ohio Society of CPAs' Taxation
Committee for three years. He also represented the Ohio Society as
accountant liaison to the Ohio Municipal League for ten years. A member of
the AICPA, he has served on Taxation Division committees, dealing with tax
forms and state and local taxation. He is a member and a past director of the
Tax Club of Cleveland.
Mark received a B.B.A. degree in Accountancy from Cleveland State
University. He served in the U.S. Army, including a tour of duty in the Republic
of Viet Nam, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Mark
and his wife, Phyllis, live in Strongsville. They have two daughters, Allison who
is a Social Worker and Laurel who is a Registered Dietitian. Their son, Boyd,
is married with three children and lives in Florida where he is an Assistant Vice
President, financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. Mark's family is committed to
the accounting profession -- five of his brothers are CPAs and one of his
sisters is a controller for a large manufacturing corporation.
