Tom joined Walthall, Drake & Wallace LLP in 1976, and became a partner in 1985. He has developed a wealth of experience and an expertise in many industries, especially manufacturing, private clubs, auto dealerships, and business valuations. In addition to heading the Firm's Business Valuation Department, Tom is the Practice Development Partner and a past Chairman of the Management Committee on which he has served multiple terms. He heads the Firm’s Private Clubs and Manufacturing Practice Groups.

Tom performs a wide range of accounting services. He excels in business consulting by helping closely-held companies enhance revenues while controlling costs and improving overall profit performance. He is experienced in financial and tax projections as well as forecasting techniques associated with succession plans, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions and business valuations.

Throughout his career Tom has been active in numerous professional organizations. He has served on the Manufacturing Committee for the Ohio Society of CPAs, as Director of Technical Programs, and as discussion leader for the Institute of Management Accountants. Tom is an active member of numerous organizations including the AICPA, the Ohio Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).

Tom's energetic commitment to community activities equals his professional involvement. He has been active in his church and with numerous youth organizations. As a member of the Canterbury Golf Club, he has served on the Board of Directors, as a past Treasurer, and currently a member of the Finance Committee. He also holds membership at the Hermit Club, a private club dedicated to the performing arts. Tom is the past President of the Hermit Club and has served on the Board of Directors as well. His love of sports and his dedication to the promotion of teamwork is reflected in the many hours Tom has devoted over the years to coaching youth ice hockey, soccer, and baseball as well as fundraising for their programs.

Tom received his B.B.S. degree from Cleveland State University in 1977, became a CPA in 1978, earned the Business Valuation industry's professional designation as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) in 1997, was certified with the AICPAs Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV) in 2000, Fraud Deterrence Analyst (CFD) in 2005, and Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) in 2007. He and his wife, Leanne, reside in Independence and enjoy golf, theater and outdoor activities together, in addition to vacationing with their seven children, Michael, Todd, Melanie, Andrew, Carl, David, and Janelle.
