BENEFITS
Health Insurance – We offer health benefits for all qualified employees and their family. We give a monthly allowance for each employee enrolled which usually covers the employee’s premium.
Dental Insurance – We also offer dental benefits for all qualified employees and their family. We pay 25% of the employee premium for each enrolled employee.
Life Insurance – Group life insurance is provided at no cost for all qualified employees.
Cafeteria Plan – Health insurance premiums, medical/dental/other expenses not covered by health insurance, and dependent care expenses can be elected and run through our cafeteria plan annually.
401(K) Retirement Plan – Qualified employees may contribute a percent or specified amount of their pretax salaries to the plan. We contribute 3% of the employee’s salary regardless of their participation.
Long-Term Disability Insurance – Long-term disability is provided to qualified employees at no cost.
Vacation – We provide a generous vacation schedule with new hires obtaining one week after completing 6 months and two weeks after completing one year.
Sick Leave – We provide 4 sick days a year to be used for time needed due to illness or injury.
Holidays – We observe the following holidays as well as providing a floating holiday for each qualified employee. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, two days at Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Compensatory Time – In order to recognize the additional efforts required of full time professional staff throughout the year, we provide the opportunity for additional time off using comp time for qualified employees.
New Client Incentive Plan – All eligible employees receive a reward for bringing new clients into the firm.
CPA Exam – Paid time off is provided for staff sitting for the CPA exam. In addition, we have a bonus plan based upon the timely passing of the CPA exam.
Flexible Work Schedule – Qualified employees are given the option of a flexible work schedule to allow for special circumstances.
Office Attire – Employees are allowed to dress business casual when working in the office. Casual days are every other Friday and are in conjunction with a charity for each month. The firm also gives a quarterly clothing allowance toward the purchase of DLM logo attire.
Memberships – DLM pays for annual dues to the AICPA and MSCPA. In addition, we encourage employees to be active members in these organizations and to join other groups of interest which the firm pays for as well.
Continuing Professional Education – The firm pays for all required CPE for qualified employees. DLM encourages staff to continue their learning which we strive to provide to all firm employees.
CAREER PATH
Here at DLM we encourage and actively participate in mentoring along staff. Below is a brief description of the different levels within our team.
Staff Accountant - Entry-level employees with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 150 hours for CPA exam eligibility. Work is performed under close supervision and job functions include accounting, financial statement preparation, auditing, and taxation. Will work with a variety of clients and engagements.
In-Charge – Demonstrated abilities to carry out duties of a staff accountant and are able to handle other, more complex situations and engagements. Able to set up time budgets and can direct assistants to accomplish objectives.
Senior – Demonstrated leadership qualities, effective communication, and a strong commitment to the firm. Perform most engagements with limited supervision. Direct and review the work of staff and in-charge staff. Passed the CPA exam.
Manager – Able to obtain and maintain solid client relationships, effectively supervise staff accountants, in-charge, and senior staff. Essentially partners-in-training, and are involved in almost all the areas for which partners are responsible.
