EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS:

Throughout her 20-year career, Ms. Horak has specialized in individual and small business tax, accounting and financial recordkeeping issues. In particular, her goal has been to help business owners organize and streamline their accounting systems so that they have access to the real-time financial information needed to make sound corporate decisions.

Ms. Horak recently returned to public accounting after two years of performing all financial and administrative functions for a downtown company as it transitioned from a one person, single-family property renovation business to becoming an active player in the District of Columbia commercial and multi-family property development community. In addition to computerizing all accounting records and filing all ongoing company income, payroll, property and licensing returns, Ms. Horak prepared the paperwork necessary to obtain Small Business Association 8a and DC Local, Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Resident Owner, certifications for the company and a slot in Leadership Washington for its owner. She also prepared company prospectuses, press releases and bid proposals which helped to generate the projects and financing necessary for its transformation into the multi-million dollar center of affiliated companies it now is.

In her spare time, Ms. Horak is an active volunteer in her church, neighborhood and school communities. Currently she teaches a course in English as a Second Language.
