Wendell (Dell) R. Coats was born in Rawlins, Wyoming. After graduating from Jeffrey City High School, he attended the University of Wyoming. Dell enlisted in the Army and served for six years, ending his tour of duty at the Presidio of San Francisco. Dell graduated from Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park, in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Dell and his wife, Ruth, have three children.

He joined the firm in 1996, working in the Napa office. Dell became partner on June 1, 2003. Dell’s professional emphasis is in accounting and financial reporting for construction, professional service companies and non-profit organizations.

Professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Dell is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Napa, President of the Board of Directors of Alternatives for Better Living, and Treasurer of the Board of Directors at COPE Family Resource Center.

In his leisure time Dell enjoys backpacking and snow skiing.
