Leonard graduated in 1980 from California State University, Chico, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. Leonard worked with Davis Hammond & Co, Certified Public Accountants, in Oroville, California, after graduating.

Leonard joined the firm in 1984, working in the St. Helena office and specializes in winery and vineyard accounting and taxation. He is responsible for accounting and financial reporting standards for the firm and takes great pride in the high marks the firm receives as a result of the State’s peer review program. Leonard became partner on June 1, 1999 and assumed the responsibility of managing the firm’s Calistoga office. He, his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Jeremy and Sarah, reside in Calistoga.

Professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Leonard is a past president of the Calistoga Rotary Club and the treasurer of the Calistoga Sharpsteen Museum Foundation.
