Graduates have an incredible opportunity to work in a team atmosphere on a variety of client engagements with Greer & Walker.  They are encouraged to explore the many different client services and technical niche areas that our firm offers.  Because we are business advisors to our clients, staff accountants are encouraged to monitor information on the clients' industry, including related publications and web sites, to enable them to relate to the business performance of the client.  As professionals, staff accountants also have access to the Firm's technical and training resources to develop and maintain their technical competence.  Staff accountants work directly with seniors, managers, and partners on client engagements.

Internships

Greer & Walker also offers winter/spring internships in both assurance and taxation.  We have found that these internships provide an excellent opportunity for students to get a feel for "real world" accounting.  Interns are treated like first year staff and have an opportunity to work on a variety of client engagements under the supervision of Firm personnel.  These internship opportunities give students a chance to experience public accounting at Greer & Walker and incorporate this experience into their accounting education.  We have had interns from Appalachian State University, UNC Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, Queens College, Bob Jones University and other colleges and universities throughout the region.
