A native of Texarkana, Texas, William Kirby received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1970. Following college, William served in the United States Army and was stationed in Zweibrucken, West Germany. William joined Grier, Reeves, & Lawley, P.C., in May of 1972 and has been a shareholder since January 1983.
William is a CPA in both Texas and Arkansas and is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas
Society of CPAs, the Arkansas Society of CPAs,
and the Texarkana Chapter of CPAs. He is a past president
of the Texarkana Chapter of CPAs and received the award of Outstanding
Chapter President by the Texas Society of CPAs in 1986-87. William has
served on the Membership Committee, the Bankers and Bank Regulatory Authorities
Committee, and the Management of an Accounting Practice Committee for
the Texas Society of CPAs. William is a past president of Southern & Western Accounting Group, an affiliation of CPA firms in Texas, Oklahoma, & Louisiana.
Some of William’s many areas of concentration include financial institutions, construction, equipment leasing, churches, nonprofit organizations, & retirement plans.
William and his wife, Andi, are members of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church where he serves as church treasurer. He is also currently serving on the board of Texarkana Community Foundation.
