LEVEL 1 ASSOCIATE (1-3 Years) POSITION AND JOB FUNCTION OVERVIEW
Under direct oversight, the Level 1 Associate is responsible for participating in tax planning, performing basic tax research, preparing basic and moderate tax returns, participating in assurance projects (compilations, reviews and audits), performing basic accounting or assurance research, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Specific responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
- Performing simple tax research
- Preparing simple and intermediate individual tax returns
- Preparing simple corporate tax returns
- Preparing journal entries
- Analyzing General Ledger account activity
- Performing compilations
- Performing portions of audit and/or review projects
- Other accounting duties as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree is required. In addition, the associate must have met educational requirements sufficient to qualify to take the CPA exam in Oregon.

LEVEL 2 ASSOCIATE
(3+ Years) POSITION AND JOB FUNCTION OVERVIEW
Under direct oversight, the Level 2 Associate is responsible for participating in tax planning, performing moderate tax research, preparing moderate tax returns, participating in and leading specific aspects of assurance projects (compilations, reviews and audits), and other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Specific responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
- Performing moderate tax research
- Preparing intermediate and complex individual tax returns
- Preparing intermediate and complex business (partnership and corporate) tax returns
- Performing compilations and reviews
- Performing portions of audit engagements
- Other accounting duties as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree is required. In addition, the associate must have met educational requirements sufficient to qualify to take the CPA exam in Oregon. The associate must also have demonstrated or documented competencies specified for lower level associates.

MANAGER
POSITION AND JOB FUNCTION OVERVIEW
The Manager is responsible for overseeing and participating in engagements within his or her practice group (department) and other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Specific responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
- Performing intermediate and complex research (within the applicable department specialization)
- Supervising and performing on engagements (within the applicable department specialization)
- Reviewing engagements (within the applicable department specialization)
- Other accounting duties as required
- Other client service responsibilities as required
- Other firm administrative responsibilities as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree and CPA license is required. The associate must also have demonstrated or documented competencies specified for all lower staff levels.
