Principal
Stephen is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) Professional, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Florida. In 1997, he was certified as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), the first CPA specialty accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, and a Master of Science degree in Financial Planning.
In the academic community, he has taught courses in Connecticut College’s Economics Department and the University of New Haven’s Accounting Department. Stephen is presently teaching at Bryant University at the Executive Development Center as part of its CFP® Education Program. Courses include retirement planning and employee benefits, estate and income tax planning and personal financial planning.
A frequent speaker at financial planning seminars for investment and insurance professionals, Stephen also conducts employer-sponsored programs for employee participants in qualified retirement programs on investment basics, portfolio construction and retirement planning.
An active member of the community, Stephen has served on the Strategic Planning Committee of the Board of Trustees of Westerly Hospital in Rhode Island, and on Fleet Bank’s local advisory board in Westerly. He is an avid tennis player and resides with his wife, Maureen, in Mystic, Connecticut.
