HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY
Madison Bookkeeping & Tax Service Inc., was founded by Norman C. Herro and Robert C. Buehner on January 1, 1950 and was located in downtown Madison on the corner of King and East Main Streets. In 1953 the firm moved to the Tenney Building on the square and hired Joseph R. Sweeney as a staff accountant. Joe managed the firm from 1958 until 1968 when he purchased it from Herro and Buehner. The firm moved in 1972 to the Marshall Building on Doty Street and again to the Cantwell Building in 1973.
Tom Brys and Tom Jankowski joined the firm in the fall of 1978 and purchased the firm from Joe Sweeney on July 1, 1985. We moved to our present location at 6200 Gisholt Drive in the SouthTowne area in August of 1986
Madison Bookkeeping & Tax Service was a forerunner of computerization in the midwest, first computerizing general ledgers in 1954. Throughout our history we have been on the leading edge of technology in the accounting and tax industry.
What we pride ourselves most on is the quality of service that we provide our clients. This philosophy has served us well in the past and insures our future success. We are more than a general ledger write-up and tax preparation firm. Our clients depend on us for sound business and tax consultation. We are able to provide this service through continued education and self improvement.
It is our commitment to quality and timely service by a knowledgeable staff that will insure our continued success.
