Ms. Thompson primarily practices in the areas of tax planning/tax return preparation, QuickBooks Advising, Fraud Examination, and business consulting. As part of her responsibilities at Pontiff, Fairweather + Thompson, P.C, she also acts as the Chief Financial Officer for various businesses. Ms. Thompson has extensive experience in assisting clients with accounting and entity planning issues. Her expertise as a Certified Fraud Examiner is helpful in evaluation intemai controls and procedures designed to minimize and/or detect misappropriations and defalcations.

Ms. Thompson graduated from the University of Colorado in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with an emphasis in Finance. Since graduation, she held positions in private industry including mortgage loan processing and commercial banking. Ms. Thompson was also an accountant for the International Arabian Horse Association, a non-profit association. She joined Barrett/ Pontiff & Fairweather, P.C. as a staff accountant during 1996. She was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1997. She completed her certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2000 and is also certified as a QuickBooks Pro-Advisor and a Certified Senior Advisor. She became a shareholder in Pontiff, Fairweather + Thompson, P.C. in 2000.

Ms. Thompson's extensive experience in the in the business world enables her to obtain a greater understanding of the complex issues of small business owners. She applies her private industry knowledge to the accounting and tax concerns of the small business owner, thereby insuring an integrated approach towards accounting, tax and succession issues.

Ms. Thompson is a member in good standing in several professional organizations including the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She is also a member of the Association of Certified Senior Advisors.
