The PNC Lender Services group also provides assistance in the monitoring of assets used as security for loans. This service, commonly called Special Purpose Investigations, may allow the financial institution more flexibility in tracking the underlying collateral without the need for the borrower to undergo a more expensive and time-consuming audit of their entire financial statements. Many times, these investigations are used in conjunction with financial statement audits as an interim overview between annual financial statements.
