Valuation Services
Pender Newkirk & Company recognizes that establishing an accurate assessment of any business requires in-depth, specialized knowledge. This specialized knowledge includes a comprehensive understanding of the business and the economic and industry environment in which it operates. Our valuation professionals possess the appropriate valuation credentials necessary and all reports are prepared in accordance with the professional standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Depending upon the nature of the engagement, the following are the different valuation that may be issued:
- Complete Valuation - will provide an unambiguous indication of value and includes an in-depth analysis of the subject company, its industry, financial condition, earning capacity and the national and local economy. It is the recommended choice for all valuations that may be scrutinized by the IRS or in litigation.
- Limited Valuation - result in a shorter report with a supportable opinion. The valuation analysis is complete, but the report’s focus is on the valuation procedures performed rather than the business itself.
- Calculation of Value – provide an estimate of value based on the “most likely” or “selected” valuation methods instead of a supportable opinion based on the application of all relevant methods.
We provide valuations for clients in various situations including, but not limited to:
- Estate and gift tax planning
- Merger and acquisition transactions
- Corporate tax planning
- Financial reporting, including purchase price allocation and goodwill impairment
- Succession and shareholder matters
- Charitable donations
- Intangible assets
