OWNER PROFILES:

MARVIN B. RIIBNER, CPA (Former Owner)

After over forty years in the business, Marvin retired from the firm in 2001. He may still make himself available on a consulting basis in certain situations. We will stay in contact with Marvin and our doors are always open for him.

CHRISTINE V. MARSHALL, CPA

Chris is in charge of our accounting division. She has specialized knowledge in corporate and partnership taxation and planning, financial reporting, and business management. After graduating from Penn State University as a Dean’s list student in 1983, Chris worked for a local firm in Pennsylvania. She joined Riibner and Associates, Chtd., in 1984 and became an owner in 1992. Chris is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. Married with one child, Chris and her family live in Howard County.

STUART A. MARGULIES, CPA

Specializing in tax preparation, tax planning, tax audit advice, and comprehensive financial planning, Stuart joined Riibner and Associates, Chtd., in 1982. He became an owner in the firm in 1992. A 1976 graduate of the University of Maryland, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Practicing Certified Public Accountants, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Men’s Club of the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. Married with two children, Stuart and his family reside in Montgomery County.

DAVID N. JOHNSTON, CPA

With Riibner and Associates, Chtd., since 1985, and an owner since 1992, Dave specializes in tax preparation and planning, comprehensive financial planning (investment, retirement and estate), and business liquidation, sales and merger planning. He has become proficient with computers and oversees our computers and advises clients about the same. Dave graduated from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA with a B.S. in Commerce which has given him a strong educational background in Accounting and Business Administration. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. Dave lives in Howard County with his wife and three children.

LARRY M. RIIBNER

Larry Riibner came into accounting in 1986 after having a previous career as a chef. He was trained as a chef at "The Culinary Institute of America" in Hyde Park, New York. While working at Riibner & Associates, Chtd, he received his BS degree in accounting at the University of Maryland, University College. He has spent his accounting career with the firm specializing in medical practices, retail businesses and a variety of other specialized businesses. He became an owner of the firm in 2001. Larry resides in Bethesda, Maryland, about 2 miles from where he grew up. He has 2 children and has been married for over 15 years. He is very active at his daughters' schools, as well as in his community. He is a teacher at his church, and has been on the finance committee, the buildings and grounds committee and the religious education committee. It is this caring attitude and concern for others that allows Larry to work closely with our clients.

WILLIAM S. "BILLY" BURAK

Specializing in income tax planning and preparation, estate and gift tax planning and preparation, business and personal financial planning and real estate transactions, Billy joined Riibner & Associates, Chtd. as an owner in 2002. He was previously a principal in another local firm for over twenty years. Billy graduated from The American University with a B.S.B.A. in Accounting, and also attended Georgetown University Law School. Billy is currently a member of the Maryland Society of Accountants, National Society of Accountants, Financial Planning Association and is a member of the Washington, DC chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Billy lives in Montgomery County with his wife and three children.
