Scott began his public accounting
career in 1978 with Price Waterhouse, LLP upon graduating from the University
of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He has
been with Smith, Linden and Basso, LLP since 1982 where he has concentrated
on various aspects of taxation.
Tax and business planning
for high net worth and highly compensated individuals and closely held businesses
are areas of Scott's expertise. However, he also specializes in the taxation
of partnerships, corporations, trusts, oil and gas, real estate transactions
and the tax implications of business mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.
Additionally, Scott has experience in estate and gift planning, fiduciary accounting
as determined by the California Uniform Principal and Income Act, real property
protests, as well as structuring executive compensation plans.
