Gordon E. Michie, CPA, has been fortunate to have had both public and private industry accounting experience, and brings that broad based business background to the clients we serve. Prior to joining Smith, Linden & Basso, LLP in 1984, Gordon worked in the private sector at Far West Financial Corporation and Smith International, Inc. where he was primarily involved in the areas of treasury, financial analysis, and establishment of internal control policies and procedures. Gordon's prior public accounting experience with Price Waterhouse included auditing and consulting for both Fortune 500 and closely held entities. He has specific expertise in the manufacturing, construction and government contracting areas.

Gordon has primary responsibility for the compilation, review or audit of the financial statements of our clients. He provides management consulting services in the areas of accounting systems and procedures, financial analysis, business valuation, mergers and acquisitions.

Gordon also provides litigation support and forensic accounting services. He is a qualified expert witness before the Orange County Superior Court and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services and has testified to areas such as business valuations and cash flows as well as having provided written reports to the U.S. District Court in criminal tax matters. He also provides financial investigative services to entities suspecting employee fraud and has assisted in the prosecution of those employees.

Gordon is a 1977 graduate of California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
